Seeing as we’re already halfway through June, I’d better get these up now-ish.
This will most likely be rambly and boring, so feel free to click away. *shrugs*
e.l.f. Shine Eraser blotting papers – I could have sworn there used to be 50 sheets per pack, but now there are only 30?? As a result, I’m going through these faster than before. Also, now that it’s summer, I’ve been using 3 sheets a day.
Nature Republic Hyaluronic Acid Aqua Collagen Solution – I like these gel masks more than paper ones. They feel more substantial and soothing. I enjoyed this one and have one more that I need to use before I leave!
Jouer lip gloss in Sunset – Just tired of this one. I don’t use lip gloss much anymore, and I have no feelings one way or another about this.
Yes to Carrots Daily Facial Moisturizer SPF 15 – It’s okay. I know there are better spf moisturizers out there, but I’m kinda cheap when it comes to skincare. Mostly because skincare ingredients etc. intimidate me.
The Body Shop Frosted Cranberry eau de toilette – It’s a sweet, one-note fragrance. I liked it, but I bought it only because I used to work there and needed to wear a company fragrance.
The Body Shop Moisture Foundation in 05 – FINALLY DONE WITH THIS MOTHERFUCKER. This foundation just wouldn’t die and I started to really resent it. It’s been discontinued, but I wouldn’t repurchase it if it were still being sold. It wore horribly throughout the day, looked greasy, and clung to dry patches. Blech.
The Body Shop Hemp Hand Protector – HG status. I will forever repurchase this hand cream. Again, the scent is not for everyone, but it is the best hand cream for my perpetually thirsty paws.
Avon skincare samples (too lazy to type them all individually) – We get Avon catalogs delivered at work every once in awhile. These samples were wedged between the pages so I tried them. They were all perfectly unremarkable.
Living Proof Instant Texture Mist – I’m actually still using this. I turned it upside down and there’s a lot left that the bottom of the spray nozzle can’t get to. I really like this product, but I’m not convinced that it’s better than a similar texturizing spray I could buy at the drugstore.
Nature Republic Aloe Vera Soothing Gel Mist – I think this is the second bottle I’ve gone through? I mainly use this to help give my facial oils some slip while applying. I like how fine the mist is, too.
Shea Terra Moroccan Argan Oil – This is a jumbo bottle that my sister left behind when she moved. My mom and I teamed up to finish it off. It was probably of questionable freshness by the time we reached the bottom. I mixed a couple drops in my body butter before applying. I also mixed it into my leave-in hair conditioner.
Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water – I prefer the Simple brand, but it’s WAAAAY more expensive in the States than in the UK. I use this to remove light eye and face makeup, as well as in place of cleanser in the morning. No complaints. I especially like skipping washing my face in the morning because I’m a lazy slob.
The Body Shop Sumptuous Cleansing Butter – I’ve gone through multiple tubs of this. Obviously I like this enough to repurchase it. The cleansing oil is also really nice, but the pump is messy and the solid balm is much easier to travel with.
fresh Rose Face Mask – This was part of a Sephora 250pt perk. I didn’t expect to like this so much! It leaves my skin feeling so soft and quenched. It looks brighter too, like I got a really good night’s sleep. I’m considering buying the full size. Maybe. Moving all my crap to London is a teeny tiny hurdle I need to clear first, though. :P
The Body Shop Hemp Foot Protector – This was pretty decent for my dry feet and I’d consider repurchasing. Not too greasy, but moisturizing enough. Same funky hemp smell that I personally dig, but most people won’t.
The Body Shop Drops of Youth Exfoliating Liquid Peel – I got this as a sample the last time I went in to replenish stuff. I feel like I was using it wrong. It stuck to my face like glue, even though I was rubbing the whole time and I struggled to wash it all off. Not interested in buying a full size at all.
e.l.f. Shine Eraser blotting papers – Yep, looks like I’m going through a pack a month. At least they’re cheap?
Dermalogica Multivitamin Thermaexfoliant – It was a physical exfoliant that heated up as you rubbed. Interesting sensation, not sure what the effect was. The problem with these tiny foil packets is that there is so little product, I rarely can tell what it actually DID. It got rid of any flaky skin I had and left my face feeling smooth. So, yay.
Atelier Cologne Rose Anonyme cologne absolue – Hated this scent. I tried, I really did. But I just couldn’t get to a point where I found anything pleasant about it. Here’s the Fragantica page on it. I could barely make out the rose note. Sorry, but yuck.
TOCCA Margaux eau de parfum – I remember this being musky, then sweet. But nothing else is memorable about it. Oh well. I’m a complete n00b when it comes to fragrances, so once again I defer to Fragrantica.
Make Up For Ever Rouge Artist Natural in N9 – Finally finished this!! It was Sephora’s birthday gift back in 2014. It’s a slightly rosy nude on me, a bit darker than my natural lip color. Good work-safe shade.
Charlotte Tilbury Full Fat Lashes mascara – This was a disappointment. I had read several reviews saying that this smudged a lot, but I bought it anyway. I love the way this made my lashes look: soft and full and fluttery. But the reviews proved true. It smudged even after the tube had been open for a few months. Every day after lunch I had to use a bit of makeup remover to wipe away the inevitable panda eyes. Sigh.
NYX High Voltage lipstick in Flutter Kiss – Wore it here. It’s not a very flattering color on me. I have to coordinate other colors to make it look purposeful, otherwise it can get corpse-y. Anyway, I accidentally twisted the tube the wrong way, and the bullet separated from the mechanism that pushes it up. So basically it was useless. Look at me, throwing my money away. -_-”
Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes eyeliner in 0L – Dried up in the wood part. Oops. You’d think one would go through black eyeliner fast enough to not have this problem, right?
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On eye pencil in Zero – But I finished this one!! It was a full size one from their 15th anniversary eyeliner vault, back when I was stupid enough to think I needed all those colors in a full-size. I ended up throwing away most of them because they’ve dried out.
TL;DR – I buy a lot of crap that I can’t possibly use up and end up wasting money. *angst*
